Pastor Hosea Cannon III was born on February 21, 1988 in Denver, CO to Pastor Hosea Cannon Jr and Janice T. Cannon. From the beginning something was “peculiar” about Hosea; he showed a passion for music. As he grew and learned to crawl, in church he would scurry to the organ or piano and pretend as if he was playing the instrument. Recognizing his interest in music his parents enrolled him in music lessons beginning a life long journey.
Hosea attended Denver School of the Arts, this is the place where Hosea discovered his potential and began to harness and grow. He has continued his education at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo as a Music Education major; however, as the passion for Ministry consumes his heart he has pursued a Major in Religious Studies. Through teachers like the Great Charles Jackson, Sylvia Lowe, Marsha Nichols, and Nathaniel Black just to name a few, Hosea was pushed to be the best in his craft. But Hosea knew he could not do it on his own, it would take the strength and wisdom, and the Grace of God.
“The great R&B legend, Marvin Gaye, once said, “I hope to refine music, study it, and try to find some area that I can unlock… These can’t be the only notes in the world, there’s got to be other notes some place, in some dimension, between the cracks on the piano keys.” This is what I have been striving for, to make something different, something never heard before. I believe that as I worship God and hear from Heaven, then and only then will this happen!!!”
Pastor Hosea Cannon III attends Greater Faith Community Church where he serves as Minister of Music and You Pastor. He has served at many churches to help build music ministries including Emmanuel Christian Center, Grace Christian Center, Greater Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church and many more. Hosea says, “Its all about KINGDOM ministry, and if that’s at Dad’s church, Pastor Alvin’s church, AME, COGIC, Apostolic or any other church… as long as we are lifting up the Matchless Name of Jesus, and lives are being changed I’m there and willing to work!!!”
